2012-2013 Carroll Dragon Varsity Cheerleaders

The Carroll Varsity and Carroll JV cheerleading squadsbrrecently competed in the NCA High School Nationals held at the DallasbrConvention Center. Teams from around thebrnation vied for much sought after trophies and awards as this annualbrprestigious competition.
Founded in 1948 by SMU cheerleader, Lawrence Herkimer, thebrNational Cheerleading Association began with camps to teach young cheerleadersbrhow to “lead the crowd” and also be leaders within their schools andbrcommunities.
Trophies were awarded in both Performance divisions and GamebrTime divisions. The Performance divisionbrcategorizes teams by school level, skill level, number of athletes, andbrall-girl or co-ed designation while the Game Time division awards in thebrcategories of sideline cheerleading, fight song, and time-out dance with teamsbrbeing classified by school level.
The Carroll Varsity squad earned a third place afterbrcompeting in the Advance, Medium, High School Division and the Junior VarsitybrDragon Squad brought home a second place trophy in the Advanced JVbrdivision. The JV team also earned anbraward for the “Best Use of Tumbling.”
Both the Varsity and JV Dragon Cheerleaders will host theirbrspring cheer clinic at CSHS on February 23rd. brDesigned for ages Kindergarten – 6th grade, these futurebrDragon Cheerleaders will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading such as jumps, tumbling, dance, stunts, and cheers.
