Rendering of Feedstore BBQ Expansion.
April was a busy month for local eatery Feedstore BBQ, which pleaded for a zoning expansion during the first Southlake City Council meeting last month and received approval during the second hearing.
City Council members gave Feedstore BBQ owner and operator William Lafavers the green light to expand the family-owned restaurant, after a reading during the second April meeting.
The proposed plan includes an expansion of the existing building, parking lot and the addition of a covered patio dining area.
Lafavers addressed issues presented during the first meeting such as masonry options, concerns of the restaurant's proximity from White Chapel Boulevard and music on the patio.
The Feedstore BBQ owner agreed to limit noise on the outside patio to only the existing sound system instead of any live or amplified music.
The site plan includes and expansion of 1,007 square feet, a patio covering 680 square feet and adding 22 parking spacing. Renderings of the expansion can be viewed on the city's website.
Additionally, Feedstore BBQ will add brick masonry to the south elevation and boulders on the property to provide a barrier between pedestrians and traffic to ensure safety.
The Council approved the request in a 5-2 decision.
