The Carroll Dragons have earned an additional 22 points since the last tally a few weeks ago, still holding a lead in the running for its fourth consecutive Lone Star Cup crown. CISD has 100 points in the standings, while the second-place team, Conroe The Woodlands, has 84 points.
The Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to six high schools, one in each of the six UIL classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A), and honors the best athletic and academic programs in the state. The winning schools in each classification will receive the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship, also presented by the UIL.
