You can help spreadbrChristmas cheer by attending the Christmas Cottage Open House on Wednesday,brDecember 2. Held at 815 S. Main Street in Grapevine, the free holiday event isbropen to any family, church, civic group or business that would like to attend.
Holiday treats will bebrserved for children at 4 p.m., with wine and hors d'oeuvres served at 5:30 p.m.brGuests are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped gifts for children and families.
Each qualified family isbrgiven a hypothetical “budget” that allows the parents to “purchase” donatedbrtoys, home goods and appliances in a private, store-like setting. This uniquebrapproach allows families to budget their resources and select unique presentsbrwhile preserving the family's dignity. More than 2,700 individuals and familiesbrare served each holiday season.
Christmas Cottage isbrdesigned to continue a legacy of giving and instill new traditions forbryour family, community group or business. This noble endeavor of giving abrmeaningful Christmas to children relies heavily on those traditions, many ofbrwhich were forged through the community's desire to extend their blessings withbrthose who are struggling this season.
The volunteers, donors andbrcorporate partners that make Christmas Cottage special for so many each year isbra testimony to the wonderful GRACE family. The hundreds of service hours,brthousands of unwrapped gifts and countless batches of cookies make a profoundbrimpact on families in need of hope.
