As physicians, we all want to serve and help. Being recognized by your colleagues for excellence in your field is very humbling and inspiring. I am honored to know that my peers trust me with caring for their patients.

WHAT IS YOUR HEALTHCARE PASSION AND HOW DID YOU COME TO REALIZE IT?

I love skin. It is the largest organ in our body, and it is so complex and fun to treat. Making it healthy, making it youthful, making it something each patient feels happy and confident about when they look in the mirror each morning is truly rewarding. I discovered my passion while working at a veteran’s hospital in Houston. That is where I had my first exposure to dermatology.

IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY OTHER PROFESSION, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I have a second one: mom. I’m pretty happy with that one also. Taking care of a two-year-old can be a little hectic, but my boy keeps me grounded. The things toddlers say have more wisdom than we think!
