“I strive to fix problems so that my patients can get back to the stage of life.”
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR PARTICULAR SPECIALTY? What defines us as human: the ability to hear, speak and our facial appearance and expression. I was specifically attracted to the complexity of surgery that addresses problems with these vital functions.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB? As a physician and surgeon I see myself as somebody that helps people and alleviates their problems to get them back to their normal lives.
ARE THERE ANY NEW PROCEDURES THAT YOU OFFER? My field, like every other field in medicine, is a rapidly evolving one. We have a wide array of implants to alleviate hearing loss, from deafness with cochlear implants, to one side hearing loss with bone anchored hearing aids and a multitude of middle ear implants. In craniofacial surgery, we 3D print custom made titanium implants specific to the patient modeled from their scans.
WHAT IS THE BEST PROFESSIONAL ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED? Ideas and smart people are a dime a dozen, it’s how diligent you are and hard you work.
