WHAT IS YOUR HEALTH CARE BACKGROUND? I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, then completed a surgical residency and research fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. I also attended the Baylor College of Medicine Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship in Houston.
ARE THERE ANY NEW PROCEDURES OR TECHNOLOGIES THAT YOU OFFER? We currently have two clinics with different areas of expertise. The bariatric and metabolic clinic at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Group of North Texas in Grapevine now offers a comprehensive medical weight loss program that utilizes new breakthrough medications for safe and effective weight loss. The center has advanced practitioners and master-level-certified dietitians dedicated to comprehensive weight loss programs. In addition, the MBSAQIP verified clinic offers a variety of robotically assisted surgical weight loss procedures including the gastric sleeve, RNY gastric bypass, single and double anastomosis duodenal switch, revisional surgery and the new single anastomosis gastric bypass, or mini bypass. The general surgery clinic specializes in robotic repair of simple and complex hernias, surgical treatment of gallbladder disease and other areas of general surgery. Our biggest advancement has been the near-complete integration of robotic surgery into our practice.
