Southlake Style creative director Bruce Sons moved around a lot growing up. Maybe that's why he likes to travel. He met his wife (a copywriter) working at an agency in Dallas years ago, and that pretty much sealed the deal.
Together the pair live in an updated mid-century modern home, which fits their mid-century modern aesthetic. Bruce even has a mid-century hobby (RC model building and flying) and has a room dedicated to it. Xacto blades, balsa and tissue are constantly on his mind.
Bruce was drawn to Southlake Style seven years ago and accepted the challenge of a role that (much like his hobby) engages multiple professional disciplines: concepting, problem solving, graphic design, retouching, event signage, marketing, at times even model making, all under the gun. Each issue develops its own personality along the way and he is proud to be a part of driving that vision. Bruce also believes there is also something rewarding about being on the set of a photo shoot and getting an inside look at the community we feature each month as it moves to layout. Deadlines and covers come and go, but watching the publication grow in unexpected ways keeps Bruce on his toes and makes every day an exciting challenge.
