From selling candy to starting clubs in the third grade, Southlake Style publisher Mike Tesoriero knew from a young age that he wanted to run his own business. After a decade of progressive sales, marketing and business development roles, Mike wanted to settle down and start a family with his college sweetheart, Nicole. They moved from the northeast to Southlake for the great schools, mild winters and overall quality of life. After enjoying the lifestyle the city provided, the pair teamed up to channel that community spirit into a monthly publication, and Southlake Style was born.
“I’m always thinking about work, but that’s what happens when you’re doing something you enjoy for people you care about,” Mike says.
Now as publisher, Mike enjoys everything from discussing editorial concepts and artistic visions to forecasting revenue and tracking digital traffic, exercising both the creative and analytical sides of his brain. Nothing makes Mike prouder than when he sees his team’s work appreciated by the community it covers.
Mike says he always has these three things on him at all times: a good idea, a bad idea and the desire to collaborate to see which is which.
