Letter from Southlake Style Editor Mike Tesoriero
In recent months Southlake has been riding high on serious accomplishments throughout the city. From the many achievements amongst Dragon Nation, to the economic successes of our new and established businesses, and the addition of some wonderful public art it seems of late, “Everything is coming up roses,” in Southlake. This month the lovely Miss Teen Southlake Brittany Tew helps us put that feeling into perspective on our cover and in a special interview.
It is February and this month's issue is all Roses and Romance. We visit Tyler, Texas and in our research find out we sit less than two hours away from the “Rose Capital of the Nation,” where as much as a quarter of the nation's roses are grown each year. And with so many roses so close to home, we thought it best to come up with a few, Out of the Box Romantic Gestures, to be enjoyed right here in north Texas.
At the office, we're also feeling the love from all of you. During our recent readership survey 96 percent said that you, “regularly read Southlake Style.” To all of you who take the time to comb through our pages each month, all that we can say is, “Thank you.” We appreciate your loyalty and work hard to put forth a magazine worth a few moments of your free time.
Speaking of hard work and free time, Spring Break is right around the corner and many of us will be taking advantage of the school break with a well-deserved family vacation. In fact, according to the survey I just mentioned, 71 percent of Southlake Style readers, “plan to travel over the next twelve months.” And “Oh, the places Southlake families go,” from the world's best white sand beaches to the groomed slopes of breathtaking ski vacations, travel truly is Southlake's style. Hopefully by now you have already made your travel plans. Regardless, whether you are all booked, still weighing your options, or a planning maven you'll enjoy our treks this month to both the beaches of Hawaii and the slopes of Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Yours in Southlake Style,
MT…
