After 15 years of showing the newest releases to movie fans everywhere, Harkins Southlake 14 will close its doors for good this weekend.
One of many businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19, Harkins has been getting by the past few months by screening classic movies and selling its signature popcorn to go.
But according to a media release, the theater made the difficult decision to close permanently after management was unable to come to economic terms with the Southlake Town Square landlord. It is the only Harkins theater located in Texas, according to its website.
“We are very proud of our time in Southlake providing first-time jobs for young people and millions of wonderful moviegoing experiences,” the company says in a media release. “We are forever grateful to our team, our loyal guests and the wonderful Southlake community in which we were able to entertain over the years.”
The theater will continue showing movies until its last day on Sunday, November 1. For a list of showtimes, visit Harkins.com.
