When The Westin Southlake hotel opens later this year, it will be led by locals who have called the area home for years.
Located at 1200 E. State Hwy. 114, the Westin Southlake hotel is a 261-room development that is opening later this year. The hotel is being developed by Harrell Hospitality Group CEO Paul Barham, Rochester Real Estate founder Jerry Crenshaw and Sanjay Chandra and Dan Meader, principal partners of the hotel's main investor, Trinity Private Equity Group.
“What drew me here was the school district and strong sense of community,” Dan says. “I could tell it would be a great place to live with my family.”
Paul says he's lived in Southlake since 1985. With the hotel being in development since 2013, Paul says he hopes the Westin will become the "community hotel" by being locally owned and operated.
“We hope the local community and visitors will both come to enjoy the amenities and activities at the Westin,” Paul says.
Sanjay says the hotel has turned out even better than imagined.
"It is very well located, and the design of the property at the highest point in Southlake really stands out," Sanjay says.
Jerry, who has lived in the area for over 20 years, says opening the hotel is a labor of love for them.
“We’ve created a hotel that works today, but more importantly will be timeless and have lasting longevity and relevancy to the city of Southlake as well as the surrounding communities,” Jerry says. “We want this to be a hotel used and enjoyed by those who live in the Southlake area, as well as those visiting our area for business, shopping and entertainment.”
