Join Southlake Tutoring Academy for a full week of Spring Break Camps! Get ready for six amazing days full of fun and excitement! From March 9 to the 16 (not including the weekend), Southlake Tutoring Academy will be hosting Chess Camp each morning with National and Fide Master Jason Doss. Students of all levels and abilities will be able to enjoy these fun-filled mornings! Students will play Bughouse rules and learn strategy, positioning, tactics and, most importantly, how to work together in teams.
What is Bughouse?
Bughouse is a chess game played on two chessboards by four players in teams of two. Normal chess rules apply, except that captured pieces on one board are passed on to a teammate on the other board, who then has the option of putting these pieces on their board. The game is usually played at a fast time. Bughouse will build campers’ understanding of chess through constant communication with a partner and lighting quick play.

In the afternoon, we will be hosting our Teams Sports and Minecraft Camp! This will include dodgeball, kickball, relay races, group table tennis and so much more. When our legs are tired from all of the running, we will turn on our devices and join the entertaining world of Minecraft.
On March 16, we are switching up our afternoon camp and bringing out Legos for our Lego Race Car Workshop. Campers will have a blast designing, creating and racing their own Lego Race Cars. They will stretch their imagination while competing against other campers in this all out Lego Race Day bonanza- featuring a 44-foot long four-lane track with a timer!

When school is out, we are open!
*We are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Morning Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Afternoon Camp runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. We also offer extended care options of 8-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
