About the Team
When talking about successful high school sports programsbracross the nation, Southlake Carroll’s swimming and diving has epitomized truebrdominance at the high school level. Since 2010, Head Coach Kevin Murphy’s teamsbrhave struck fear in opponents throughout the state on their way to beingbrrecognized as a national powerhouse. Making waves on every level across thebrcountry, Coach Murphy’s teams hold five consecutive state championships while hisbrboys team ended the 2014-2015 season ranked first amongst public schools by thebrNational Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association. The Lady Dragons finishedbrthird in the public school rankings in the same poll, while ranking 20thbrin the public and private school poll. The Carroll program (boys and girls)brfinished sixth in the nation. As coach Kevin Murphy has built another dynastybrin the city of Southlake, it’s become normal for the Carroll program to dominatebryear after year. Currently, both the boys and girls teams sit undefeated asbrthey prepare for district meets. Don’t be surprised if the Dragons dominate thebrcompetition once again for an unprecedented 6th straight statebrchampionship.
Season Update
The Dragons Swimming and Diving team has had much successbrthis season as both the boys and girls teams have cruised to an undefeated seasonbrat 12-0, and Sr. -0 respectively. Having won every meet so far this season,brKevin Murphy’s team heads into district competition as confident as ever.
The Dragon Boys took home the Mansfield Invitational Trophybrby an impressive nearly 600-point margin. The team set a few records along thebrway including one in the 200-meter medley relay. The team of Alex Morau, JPbrReppeto, Alex Zettlle and Landon Jensen finished with a time of 1:38.27. Inbraddition, the boys 200-meter free relay team also established a new meet recordbrat Mansfield as the team of Landon Jensen, Landon Armstrong, Logan Davis andbrZach Lowery finished the competition in 1:28.36. The girls team has alreadybrgotten its revenge against last year’s 6A State champion Austin Westlake,brdefeating them by 64 points in the North Tisca Invitational Swim/Dive Meetbrearlier this season. With three meets left, the Dragons look to end 2016 on topbronce again.
