2024 volunteers
The city of Southlake recognized its volunteers during its 2024 awards ceremony earlier this week.
During its regular city council meeting on Monday, May 20, the council honored their city volunteers through their 2024 service awards. These volunteers have served from just a couple of hours to well over a thousand.
“We have almost 1,200 volunteers, who in this last year, served 23,743 hours, giving back to their community with a service value of over $750,000,” assistant city manager Stacey Black says via MySouthlakeNews.com. “This is a huge impact these volunteers have on the city of Southlake.”
According to MySouthlakeNews.com, this year’s junior award goes to Naomi Kolady, while this year’s adult award goes toward Jim Shirey. Bronze awards went toward 26 volunteers, while 11 volunteers received silver awards and 13 volunteers received gold awards.
In addition to these volunteers, Brent Bush and Keith Morrow received 500-hour milestone awards, while Leroy McCall and Wayne Berryman received awards for serving over 3,000 hours. Ken Stewart was recognized for reaching the 6,000-hour milestone.
