Devan DeLugo: Incoming Vice President of Carroll Theatre
In the summer of 2011, Devan DeLugo hesitantly auditioned for the part of young Éponine in a local production of “Les Miserables.” She didn't know it then, but this would be the beginning of a passion for musical theater. Seven years later, she is approaching her senior year and will serve as vice president of Carroll Theatre.
“In Carroll Theatre, I hope I serve as a mentor because many of the younger students come in not knowing what they want to do with theater,” Devan says. “I was lucky I found my dream early, and I realized I wanted to be a part of musical theater very early on.”
To say she had a successful junior year would be a gross understatement. Last school year, Devan's role in “Gypsy” earned her multiple award nominations, including Best Featured Actress by Dallas Summer Musical's High School Musical Theatre Awards.
Devan is also an active member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Crew and Choir. She plans to major in musical theater and has 23 college auditions lined up.
