Top Keller Central 24-21 to go 8-0 on the season
The Dragons (8-0) got off to a blazing start scoring 17 points in the first quarter Thursday night against Keller Central (6-2) and made it stand up in a 24-21 win. With the win the Dragons remain undefeated and secure their 12th consecutive postseason appearance.
Junior quarterback Kenny Hill completed a season low 6 passes on only 14 attempts, but made them worth it with a 58 yard TD strike to Sabian Holmes (pictured here) and a 21 yard TD to Peyton Williams, both in the first quarter.
Sophomore running back Steven Bergmark helped control the clock posting 15 rushing attempts for 77 yards, while Hill ran the ball 16 times for 57 yards. The most important run of all came with 4:00 remaining as Hill converted an all-important fourth-and-one from the Keller Central 46-yard line. Keeping the drive alive, Hill then scampered for a 37 yard TD to thwart a late Keller Central rally and solidify the Dragons’ presence in the post season.
The Dragons next game and final home game of the season will be Friday October 28 against Saginaw (1-6) as they vie to remain undefeated on the season.
