On Dec. 1, the Southlake Historical Society invites locals to come feed the birds at the Southlake Log House. Attendees who come out at 1 p.m. will learn how to encourage birds to stop by their homes and eat in their backyards this winter. Plus, kids will walk away with some bird treats.
The Southlake Log House, located under the water tower at the White Chapel Boulevard entrance to Bicentennial Park, is a replica of an 1850s home. The structure, built in 2008, is made from log structures from the town that can be traced back to the 1850s and 1860s. It is located behind Bunker Hill, which was once the highest point in the area and acted as a lookout.
