From big box stores like Walmartbrand HomeGoods to luxury and niche retailers by the likes of Michael Kors andbrTyler's, Southlake has seen a great expansion in its retail market inbr2012. The addition of new restaurantsbrhighlighted with the fourth quarter openings of Patrizio Osteria and The GingerbrMan have also added to the vibrant businesses now calling Southlake ‘home’.

According to Last and the citybrrun website www.SouthlakeBusinesses.com, Southlake has recorded seventy-eightbrnew companies who have opened their doors for business in 2012. As a well-knownbrdestination for shopping, dining and entertainment, many of the city’s newbrbusinesses are in fact retailers and restaurants targeting the affluentbrsuburban population of Northeast Tarrant County.
However, there is more to thebrcity's economic base than entertainment and with more than 1,600 businesses inbrtotal, Southlake also has a vibrant group of non-retail operations. Throughoutbr2012 Southlake has added many in the financial services, consulting and medicalbrfields to name just a few.
