Southlake residents are standing behind the city's iconic restaurant request for additional parking and an outdoor patio.
Southlake City Council heard the first proposal of an expansion to Feedstore BBQ at its April meeting, with members unanimously approving the request after hearing locals express their support for the restaurant.
Feedstore BBQ owner and applicant Bill Lafavers requested the approval of a zoning change and site plan to accommodate a 1,007-square-foot expansion to the store, which is located at 530 S. White Chapel Blvd. The zoning change will include an outdoor covered patio dining area and additional parking.
Councilwoman Pamela Muller expressed her appreciation for Feedstore BBQ and what it means to the city. However, she raised concerns about traffic and surrounding commercial developments for residents.
Nonetheless, the council approved the first reading 7-0.
Also in April, Keller City Council offered an economic incentive package to the local eatery. The restaurant in considering a location on Main Street in Keller.
