ob Jones Park. Being a competitive athlete is difficult enough, but for these players, the challenge is even more incredible. That's because these athletes aren't just fight-bring for a win, they're celebrating the freedom they've fought so hard for us all to enjoy. Meet the 30 extraordinary members of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball TeamTM (otherwise known as WWAST), comprised of some of America's bravest heroes, soldiers and veterans. Their mission is to inspire and educate others, while enhancing their own health and welfare. And though each team member has sustained a heart-wrenching amount of hardship, including severe injuries resulting in amputation, they aren't playing for sympathy cheers. No, instead these men are competing with the best of them, playing against able-bodied teams across the nation at the highest level to prove that nothing — not even the loss of a limb — can stop them.
Today, their armor consists of prosthetic legs and arms, but their hearts remain as strong as ever. Come to support these proud veterans and active soldiers as they hit the softball field to play a sport they love, while showing us anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Funds raised from the tournament will be used to support education and training for Wounded Warrior amputees as they work to pursue their academic goals. Who's up for a great game for an even greater cause? Count us in!
