Southlake City CouncilbrExpresses Support for Proposed Westin Hotel
The City of Southlake is in talks to potentially acquire abrnew Westin hotel during the first reading of a site plan during a recentbrmeeting. Paul Barham of Harrell Hospitality Group presented the proposed sitebrplan and zoning change. The hotel would be located at 1200 E. S.H. 114, a spacebrthat is currently owned by Gateway Church.
In 2007, the city council approvedbrthe current zoning on the property for the development of the Gateway Churchbrcampus, allowing for hotel district uses. The proposed hotel is a four-star,brfour-diamond facility, featuring 276 guest rooms and amenities, including abrfull-service restaurant, meeting and conference center and a rooftop pool. Thebrhotel would be seven stories, span 6.8 acres and include a three-level parkingbrgarage.
The council unanimously approvedbrthe second meeting, giving permission for design and construction to happenbrimmediately.
