One of the largest nonprofit youth theater organizations in the country is debuting in Southlake and Grapevine this fall.
Originally founded in Plano in 1991, the North Texas Performing Arts organization is dedicated to developing youth through arts education, family entertainment and community-centered theater productions. Operating four sites in Plano, Fairview, Frisco and Plano, the organization announced that it will be opening its fifth location in Southlake and Grapevine this fall.
Rehearsals will be held at Dana’s Dance Studio at 465 W. Southlake Blvd., while performances will take place at Grapevine’s Palace Arts Center at 300 S. Main Street, according to a media release. The first workshops will take place from August 6-20, and auditions for its first show will be held in September. The first show of its season is “Annie Jr.” and will run from November 18-21.
“We are excited to bring 30 years of education youth theater experience to Tarrant County,” NTPA CEO Darrell Rodenbaugh says in the media release. “There is incredible talent there [that are] deserving to have their voices heard onstage. We can’t wait to make available this unique and powerful opportunity for a child to take the stage in the historic Palace Theatre in what will be a fun, fulfilling and safe extracurricular activity this fall.”
