Diwalifest is back to light up the city of Southlake.
Since 2018, the popular community event has celebrated Indian culture and traditions by featuring Indian dances, entertainment and food. Founder Kush Rao says he aims to bring the community together through the multicultural event.
“We want our community to experience diversity, experience peace, experience sustainability, experience togetherness and at the same time, take a few moments from our busy lives and experiences life together through this festival,” Kush previously said in Southlake Style.
This year’s Diwalifest will have a variety of arts and crafts, clothing and jewelry exhibits, raffle prizes, a cultural performance and an open floor that attendants can dance on all night long, according to the website. The festival also features an extensive lineup of food vendors such as Hello! India, Minerva Indian Cuisine, Crown Catering Texas and Dat's A N'ice Italian Ice. Fireworks will pop off at 7 p.m. and the event will wrap up around midnight.
