"Southlake, located roughly 25 miles northwest of Dallas, is one of two exceptionally wealthy communities in the proximity of the metro area," the report says. "While all but one other wealthy area on this list had a median home value of at least $750,000, Southlake had a relatively low median home value of $514,900. Of course, that is still several hundred thousand dollars above the national median home value of $176,700."
The median household income weighs in at $172,951 in an area populated by 27,006 people.
"Like many other especially wealthy U.S. areas, financial well-being in Southlake is not shared by many other communities in the region," the report continues. "In nearby White Settlement, for example, poverty levels are far higher and property values are far lower."
