The Dallas Business Journal reported earlier this month that the average annual contribution to charity per household in Southlake was $1,118.97, making it third on a Top 10 list of North Texas cities. Colleyville topped the list, averaging $1,250.79 per household.
"You might notice on this year’s List that we shook up the rankings a bit. Instead of only looking at total cash contributions to charities — we used Esri’s proprietary charitable rank index, which accounts for population and looks at charitable giving to household income ratios," the report said.
Esri is a company that uses a geographic information system. The report indicated North Texas donated a total of $745 million to charity in 2015, which is a regional average of $338.27 per household.
Also locally relevant and making the list were Flower Mound and Coppell (No. 5 and No. 8 respectively). To see the full report, click here.
