Canadian pop duo Tegan and Sara will take the stage at Plano's own Suburbia Music Festival

Although Austin is dubbed, ‘The Live Music Capital of the World,'brDallas-Fort Worth is in hot pursuit to make the Metroplex one of the go-tobrplaces for music.
Smack in the middle of North Texas, Plano is set to host itsbrfirst-ever Suburbia Music Festival onbrMay 3 and 4. While rumors surfaced around the water cooler about whichbrmusical acts will take the stage, the lineup for the festival was recentlybrannounced.

We believe that North Texas has been in need of a major music festivalbrfor many years and we firmly believe that Suburbia will be the vehicle tobrbecome an annual event for decades to come," says Danny Eaton, LivebrNation's Senior Vice President, North American Concerts.
He continues, "We also want to thank the City of Planobrfor offering us this opportunity to showcase the beautiful acreage known as OakbrPoint Park to stage Suburbia. Suburbia is destined to become the premiere musicbrfestival of all time in the North Texas area.”
The range of boldface names gracing Suburbia Music Festivalbrare anything sort of impressive, including Violent Femmes, Third Eye Blind, AlabamabrShakes, Tegan and Sara, David Guetta, J. Cole, the Dandy Warhols and many more.
So far, Suburbia Music Festival has announced 40 acts, withbrmore to come in the foreseeable future. A list of full line up can be viewed onbrthe Suburbia Music Festival site.
The Suburbia Music Festival will take place at Oak PointbrPark & Nature Preserve in Plano, which also hosts the annual Plano BalloonbrFestival. While the festival will not take place on the same grounds as thebrballoon festival, there is set to be massive space for the event. The festivalbrwill be located at 5901 Los Rios Blvd., Plano.

Tickets for the festival officially go on sale Saturday,brJan. 25, but a pre-sale for two-day festival tickets begins Friday, Jan. 17brstarting at $79.50 through Ticketmaster. Additionally, Groupon isbrcurrently offering a deal where pre-sale for two-day tickets costs almost halfbrof the early bird special price.
