Tarrant County will now require face masks in all businesses starting on Friday, June 26.
According to the executive order, Tarrant County businesses will require both customers and employees to wear some sort of face covering while performing transactions and services. Acceptable face covering options include homemade masks, scarves, bandanas, handkerchiefs and anything else that can appropriately cover an individual’s mouth and nose. Exemptions for the order include children under the age of 10, those who are consuming food or drinks, those whose services would be impaired by a mask and individuals who have a mental or physical health risk from wearing a face covering.
The order lasts until 6 a.m. on Monday, August 3 unless otherwise extended, modified or terminated by the county. Businesses that violate the order could face a fine of up to $1,000. Customers who violate the order could be denied service and barred from the premises until the order requirements are observed.
