If you’re looking for a unique holiday gift for a loved one, maybe it's time to consider giving the gift of giving back. If you head down to Grapevine's Main Street this holiday season, an unmissable vending machine will be making Christmas wishes come true with just the touch of a button.
For the second year in a row, the Christmas Capital of Texas will be home to a Giving Machine, a big red vending machine that makes donating to special causes as easy as grabbing a snack. In partnership with local and international organizations like the Salvation Army, Unicef, Love Pacs, Catholic Charities, Lifting Hands International, 6 Stones and Agape, extending a helping hand has never been so easy.
Located in front of Napoli’s Italian Kitchen & Market, customers will be able to choose from dozens of heartwarming options at Grapevine's Giving Machine, including $10 to provide hygiene essentials to a woman or child in crisis, $40 for winter wear for someone in need and $120 that will provide enough food to feed three children for a week. You can even spend $150 to purchase a goat to help an international refugee family become food secure.
The machines are sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which covers all of the overhead costs. This means that 100% of the donated funds go directly to the chosen charitable organizations.
Giving Machines were introduced in 2017, and there are currently more than 100 locations around the world. To date, the machines have helped direct $32 million to organizations helping those in need.
This year’s Light The World Giving Machine will be located at 309 S. Main St. in Grapevine from Nov. 22 through Dec 5.
