Amber Butcher, known to her followers as "Primal Mom," knows the importance a diet can have on a person's life. It's why she has dedicated her blog to sharing her story.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO CUT OUT PROCESSED FOODS?
The truth is that I just woke up one morning sick and tired of being sick and tired. I began researching natural ways to combat the postpartum issues I was experiencing, and everything kept pointing to diet.
WAS THE TRANSITION DIFFICULT?
Honestly, it was easy. Once we got over the dreaded ‘carb flu’ of transitioning off processed foods, the changes we began to see in ourselves, from moods to weight loss to eliminating health issues, just made it so easy to keep going.
WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?
Friends and family noticed the significant change in my family, especially our physical appearance, and continually asked what we were doing. I would always answer with, ‘We are just eating!’ As I was in the middle of cooking dinner, I decided to start a Facebook page and I named it ‘Primal Mom.’
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE STARTING 'PRIMAL MOM'?
Prior to staying home with my children, I was a social worker. I worked with abused women and children and spent some time working in the juvenile justice system.
DO YOU BLOG FULL TIME?
My blog is just real life, so yes! Blogging started out as a hobby but turned into a full-on business, and I am grateful for every reader I have. Plus, I write cookbooks!
WHAT IS AN AVERAGE DAY LIKE FOR YOU?
I am a wife and mother first. While cooking, writing and creating recipes consumes a lot of my free time, I prioritize my family sitting around the dinner table every single evening.
