Christmas At 121 Community Church
This year has brought on unspeakable hardships, massive changes, death and losses for millions of people in our nation and our world. As a country, we’ve become even more divided on so many issues, and quite candidly many of us are tired and scared.
As we head into December, our country will have been living in the pandemic for nearly 10 months. Masks have become a part of our everyday wardrobe, and it’s become weird to see someone’s entire face. Friends and families have gone months without seeing one another, and don’t know the next time they’ll be able to hang out in person like they used to.
We get aggravated when someone violates our 6 feet of personal space. While we’re thankful for technology and the ability to connect via Zoom, it feels less personal. Mental illness and social isolation is taking a toll on all of us and our children. Terms like “the new normal” echo in our heads and we all wonder what the future holds for us. Depression and anxiety sink in yet we try to remain hopeful while wondering when this will end.
But there is hope. Despite all the tragedies we’ve endured this year, God still loves the world. This Christmas season, we invite you to celebrate the coming of Christ while we explore how Christmas is celebrated in different regions of the world. Learn what hope, joy, peace and love look like in different cultures and regions of the world. Series starts November 29.
