Fully vaccinated individuals no longer have to wear their masks indoors or outdoors, according to updated guidelines released by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.
On Thursday, May 13, the CDC announced that if you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you can resume regular activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart. This includes individuals who have either had their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
According to the updated guidelines, fully vaccinated individuals can also travel without having to self-quarantine or get tested. Individuals will still be required to wear masks on planes, buses and trains or if mandated by federal, state or local regulations, including in local businesses and workplaces. If they get into close contact with someone who has COVID-19, fully vaccinated individuals do not have to social distance or get tested unless they are showing symptoms themselves.
