Del Frisco's Grille is certainly a classy and sophisticatedbrchophouse, but don't think of it only as an after-workbrestablishment – it's actually an ideal spot for lunch. Thebrrestaurant recently rolled out its “Lunch Time in No Time”brcampaign featuring an expanded lunch menu along withbrseveral new starters. We were happy to bring our appetitesbrand taste our way through the many original and intriguingbroptions.br
When we arrived for lunch, the staff was friendly andbrwelcoming, escorting us up the stairs to a comfortable leatherbrbooth overlooking the bar. We prefer to sit on the second levelbr(it's the perfect spot to gaze upon the comings and goings ofbrSouthlake Boulevard), but there's not a bad spot in the housebr– upstairs, downstairs or on the rooftop patio.br
There are plenty of diverse and creative options on thebrrestaurant's Grab A Pair lunch menu, and along with its DailybrDish features, there's something for every craving.br
We kicked off our visit with one of our all-time favoritebrappetizers, the Burrata and Heirloom Tomato Salad, alongbrwith some new selections: the Lollipop Chicken Wings and thebrAsian Street Tacos.br
The salad was beautifully plated, featuring fragrantbrtomatoes, flavorful basil oil and balsamic vinegar, and abrgenerous portion of rich, creamy burrata. As for the wings, webrloved biting into a classic, Buffalo-style chicken wing withoutbrthe sticky fingers afterwards. These were downright addictivebrwhen dunked into a cool, avocado-ranch dressing. The streetbrtacos, which were loaded with barbecue pork, pickled daikonbrand carrot, cucumber, cilantro and chiles, had an unexpectedbrbut palatable kick.br
Our appetites piqued after the first course, we moved onbrto the main event: our lunch entrées. The Brick Chicken wasbreasily a standout. Succulent, juicy meat with perfectly crispedbrskin was paired with luscious, hand-mashed potatoes, shallot-brbuttered green beans and roasted chicken jus. This dish wasbrthe ultimate in comfort cuisine.br
Another favorite among our group was the ChoppedbrChicken and Farm Greens Salad. Tender, diced chicken,brroasted pine nuts, crumbled blue cheese, tomato, carrot, andbra Dijon mustard vinaigrette made it a satisfying, full-flavoredbrmeal we'll definitely order again.br
If you believe that no meal is complete without a touch ofbrsomething sweet, we feel the same way. That's why we savoredbrnot one but two desserts: the Coconut Cream Pie, which wasbrtopped off with a gigantic heap of white-chocolate shavings,bralong with the Nutella Bread Pudding, which was moist, warmbrand delicious served with a giant scoop of coffee ice cream.br
Del Frisco's Grille is on point for an efficient, in-and-outbrlunch, but with the upscale ambience, friendly service andbrtantalizing menu options, you'll want to linger.
