The Miracle League of Southlake saw a home run of a season this past spring.
Wrapping up last month, the Miracle League's spring season saw the team complete 49 out of 50 scheduled games with no rainouts. According to the league's spring newsletter, 19 new players joined the team for a total of 185 players this season. That's 76% of the pre-pandemic number of 242 players prior to 2020. Member John Slocum says they expect to break 200 players in the coming fall.
"Thank you all for continuing to support the Miracle League," John says via email. "Without your support, we would not be able to provide this experience to so many children with special needs."
The Miracle League's fall season will kick off on August 27 with a carnival celebration, with games running from Sept. 17 to Oct. 22. Stay up-to-date with the Miracle League and its upcoming season at MiracleLeagueOfSouthlake.com.
