Southlake’s Sam Watson will be on the world stage tomorrow when he competes in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Previously qualifying for the Olympics last fall, Sam Watson currently holds the world record for speed climbing, finishing in 4.79 seconds at the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Cup in April. Now the olympian prepares to race against 13 other speed climbers on a 15-meter wall when the men’s qualifying round kicks off at 6 a.m. CST tomorrow. Those who qualify will move on to the final round on Thursday, Aug. 8.
