Two Southlake filmmakers received outstanding praise for the premiere of their first feature-length film to hit the big screen.
Founding their production company Three60 Films in 2022, Hannah and Psalms Wimbrey are two up-and-coming movie producers who previously graduated from KD Conservatory College of Film and Dramatic Arts. Partnering with writer-director Nicki Micheaux, the duo released their debut drama film “Summer of Violence,” which tells the story of a college graduate who turns down law school to focus on poetry.
Winning the Best Picture award from Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival and a First Time Filmmaker award from Tallgrass Film Festival earlier this month, Hannah and Psalms now turn to focus on the film’s world premiere at the American Black Film Festival on June 16, 2024.
“We’re extremely blessed to be two of the executive producers of the film ‘Summer Of Violence’ in our early 20s. This film allowed us not only to act in front of the camera, but also to be part of the action behind it,” Psalms says. “When you usually watch a film, you enjoy what’s happening on the screen, but Nicki showed us that the real beauty starts with your own creativity.”
