Southlake historians Connie Cooley and Anita Robeson were honored with the William E. Jary Jr. Award by the Tarrant County Historical Commission last week, according to a press release.
Currently serving the Southlake Historical Society as its president and historian, Connie and Anita were recognized by the commission for their tireless efforts in documenting, collecting and preserving the history of Southlake for the past 20 years. While Anita was unable to attend the summit, Connie accepted the award on both of their behalfs on Oct. 13.
“The summit is an annual event to bring together those within Tarrant County who are advocates of preserving history,” the TCHC says via Facebook. “Congratulations to this year's award winners!”
This is just the latest in accolades that the Southlake Historical Society has recently received. Over the summer, the Southlake Historical Society was also recognized with the Leadership In History award from the American Association for State And Local History for its exhibit on Bob and Almeady Chisum Jones last summer.
