Get ready, Southlake shoppers — the 10-day Partners Card shopping extravaganza benefiting The Family Place kicks off on Friday, Oct. 29 and doesn't wrap up until Sunday, Nov. 7! Thousands of people across DFW come to participate in this annual shopping fundraiser every year, including Southlake resident Julie Horn and her friends.
The Family Place is the largest family violence service provider in North Texas and has been saving lives and serving the community since 1978. The agency empowers survivors of physical and emotional domestic abuse by providing safe housing, counseling and support that allows former victims to begin new lives.
The largest fundraiser The Family Place organizes is Partners Card. Shoppers can purchase a Partners Card for $75 to save 20% at retailers and 10% at restaurants across North Texas.
"Partners Card makes shopping fun and is such an easy way to give back," Julie says. "One hundred percent of the proceeds from the card purchases go directly to support The Family Place's programs and services for victims of family violence. In turn, I get a discount at the stores participating in Partners Card. The card pays for itself!"
Like many others, Julie has already made her shopping list for Partners Card this year! She plans to make stops at Starpower for a new TV, as well as local retailers such as Bibbentuckers, Williams and Sonoma, Saint Bernard, Sample House and Tyler’s.
