TED came early to Carroll High School during the TEDeD Southlake conference earlier this month.
On March 3, 11 Southlake Carroll students presented a broad range of five-minute TEDeD talks, including "Every Day Is Leg Day," "The Value Of Imperfection" and "Graceful Servicing." Ninth-grader Jay Tamirisa served as the student organizer, while Kamala Tamirisa served as the parent organizer. Coaches Karon Otto and Lynda Warner also helped students prepare for their presentations.
Eighth-grade speakers included Cyra Deshpande, Aaryan Adusumilli and Anish Agarwal, while ninth-grade speakers included Avir Sankara, Shaadana Rajesh, Aditi Srikanth and Nethra Tummaiapall. High school speakers included Soha Modh, Riya Shah and Uma Devarakonda. All talks have been submitted to the TED organization with the hopes that they will be approved for publication.
