After being under development for two years, Carroll ISD’s new performing arts center fully opened to the public last week.
Part of the $208-million bond package that was approved in 2017, the new performing arts center is a $28-million investment that will house both Dragon Band and Choir’s programs. The 95,000-square-foot facility includes a 700-seat performance hall, a 10,000-square-foot auditorium, a 5,000-square-foot band hall, a 1,000-square-foot digital classroom, 23 practice and rehearsal rooms, 15 offices and seven storage rooms, according to the bond package.
The district held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility inside Carroll Senior High School on Thursday, Nov. 18, and the Carroll band and choir got to perform inside the new hall shortly afterward.
“To have this kind of venue in this incredible school district is an amazing nod to the fine arts of Carroll ISD,” Carroll Senior High principal Ryan Wilson says. “This is a very beautiful thing to have in our fine district.”
You can check out the new facility and performance hall now at 1501 W. Southlake Blvd.
