One Dragon is looking to change the health care landscape in North Texas. Last year, Sahaj Satani founded Mediloquy, a nonprofit that connects high school students to internships and mentorships within the health care field.
“Since my sophomore year of high school, I’ve been trying to find research opportunities to fulfill my passion and interest in this field, and I realized that it’s really hard to find opportunities for high schoolers specifically,” Sahaj says. “That ignited me to start Mediloquy and help others gain internships.”
After the website launched, Mediloquy helped students from Marcus High and Plano East to collaborate with local health care organizations, including Medical City Healthcare, Texas Oncology and Texas Health Resources. So far, Sahaj has helped connect 850 students to health care institutions through Mediloquy.
“I hope to increase the amount by reaching out to more high schools and more educational organizations,” Sahaj says. “This has allowed students to engage in meaningful medical research, further enriching their experiences.”
