Why would CEF need to fund teacher salaries? The State of Texas will recapture an anticipated $32.2 million from property taxes in Carroll ISD just for the 2022-23 school year. This leaves a very large cap in the budget for teachers and other resources.

This year, CEF is hoping to step up again with an even bigger Teacher Fund donation. Leading the charge for the fifth year is CEF Teacher Fund Title Sponsor, Keller Williams Southlake Dragon Nation.

"As a Dragon alum who now has students in Carroll ISD, I think it is so important to invest in the education of our children," says Richae Yeats Murphy, a CEF board member and Keller Williams Southlake Dragon Nation real estate broker. "The agents who are a part of the Keller Williams Dragon Nation all live and work in Southlake and are invested in making a difference by helping to fund teachers for Carroll ISD. Keller Williams Southlake Dragon Nation has been the title sponsor for the CEF Teacher Fund since 2018, and we are proud to continue that tradition."

Thanks to the generous support of our Dragon families and Southlake-area businesses, CEF has donated over $2.2 million to CISD in the past four years to fund teacher salaries and another $60,000 for CISD and alumni scholarships.

"I am amazed at the progress CEF has made over the past few years, and it only takes $1 per day or $365 per child per year to make a difference," says Kali Sommer, CEF board chair and Dragon parent. "One dollar per day directly supports our teachers that continue to make an impact in our children's lives and future."
