After fierce competition at regionals, the Carroll ISD Academic Team finished second with 136 points, following behind Allen which came in first place with 295 points.
The literary criticism and social studies teams — which had the second-highest scores in the state — came in first place, while the journalism, computer science, current issues and science teams earned third place.
“I appreciate all the hard work and effort all these coaches and students put into the UIL academic program,” John Irish, Carroll’s UIL academic coordinator says.
The state meet is now on the horizon, set to take place on May 6-7 in Austin.
Congrats to these students!
