Two coaches, a fourth athlete and several CISD employees have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a district newsletter.
Three Dragons previously tested positive for COVID-19 while working out with coaches and athletes at CISD facilities last month. After quarantining themselves for two weeks, all coaches and athletes who worked out with them tested negative for COVID-19.
Since those cases have arisen, two more coaches and another athlete have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the district newsletter. None of them have interacted with other students or have been involved in CISD activities for the past two weeks. A third coach and several other CISD employees have either tested positive or been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be required to self-quarantine for the next two weeks as directed by the Tarrant County Health Department.
The district also announced that it will start selling bus passes for the 2020-2021 school year next week. Per the fall planning guide, the goal is to have one student per seat or two siblings per seat for a total of 26 riders on the bus. Sales will open on Monday, July 20 on the district’s website.
It is currently unclear how the state’s current mask mandate or TEA guidance on virtual instruction will change or impact school in the fall. The district encourages residents to stay up to date on its #SAFEdragon page at SouthlakeCarroll.edu.
