CISD board trustee David Almand will be leaving his Place 7 seat later this month.
On Monday, July 19, David announced that he would formally vacate from his position on the board of trustees on Friday, July 30. Throughout his term, David has served on the 2017 bond advisory committee, the school health advisory council, the North Texas Association of School Boards and the Texas Association of School Board’s Legislative Advisory Council. He also served as the board’s delegate to the 2020 Texas Association of School Board’s delegate assembly.
“Mr. Almand is moving away from our community to enjoy retirement, and we wish him and his family well,” board president Michelle Moore says in a statement. “He has been a tremendous asset to our community and school district during his time on the board.”
The board of trustees will convene during a special meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 2, to discuss the next steps regarding the open seat.
