While she has only been in Carroll ISD for one year so far, Khushi Sachdeva took no time to fully acclimate as a Dragon.
“When I first came to Carroll, I was thrilled to find that they had a Bollywood dance club in place and joined right away,” she expresses. “We recently organized a fun-filled cultural festival and successfully raised over $1,000 in funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”
She has been dancing for as long as she can remember, so the club proved to be a great fit. In fact, she now serves as the group’s creative director. Outside of school, she is the co-founder and artistic director of Let’s Bollywood, a local dance company. Khushi is also a member of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society), Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) and National Honor Society. On top of it all, she will serve as a Green Jacket during the 2019-2020 school year.
“I love my school,” Khushi says. “CSHS has done a lot for me, from giving me new friends and amazing mentors, to healthy intellectual challenges and opportunities to grow as a person.”
After high school, Khushi is considering a career in the business or financial sectors, possibly pursuing an MBA en route to that. Her top college choices include the University of Texas at Austin and Texas Christian University, but she says regardless of where she ends up, she wants to make a positive impact on those around her.
“While I have been here for just a year, I know that what I have learned about myself and others will stay with me for a lifetime,” she says.
