Earlier this month, Mayor Laura Hill hosted the popular “Meet the Mayor” event, welcoming in citizens of Southlake and the surrounding areas, with the purpose of raising awareness and promoting a new initiative of the Carroll Education Foundation – the CISD Teacher Fund. CEF believes that the teachers are at the heart of education and that continuous investment in positions and programs not fully funded by the state is vital for supporting the exceptional teachers and extraordinary students across all 11 campuses. As a result, the CEF is reaching out to the community to help bridge this gap in funding.
Mayor Laura Hill welcomed the CISD, CEF and community leaders while sharing her deep commitment to supporting the schools in our community. It was recognized that the excellent education CISD provides is a major draw for prospective residents to the city, thus, an impact on the economic health of the town. Laura Grosskopf, Executive Director, and Leighanne Christon, Director of Development, appreciated Mayor Hill's support and also recognized and shared great appreciation for the Keller Williams Luxury Division – Southlake for not only being the first contributor to the inaugural CISD Teacher Fund, but also for supporting at the exclusive level of Presenting Sponsor.brCharlie the Dragon also showed up to celebrate and provide some photo ops!
