Carroll ISD received a $50,600 donation from the Southlake Women’s Club (SWC) last week.
This comes as the SWC concludes its 34th annual school supply sale, a fundraiser where supplies are purchased in bulk and distributed in premade packages to parents at discounted rates.
For the 2023-2024 school year, 2,747 packs were sold across nine campuses in CISD and 70 packs were provided to various students in need. Although the SWC didn’t start this program in 1996, they have since raised nearly $700,000 for the school district.
After the fundraiser ran its course last summer, the SWC received a portion of sales and gave additional proceeds back to the district. The 2023-2024 school supply sale proved a big success, with $50,600 funding school clubs, equipment, educational departments, an outdoor learning area and onboarding three new teachers.
“I think this is a wonderful fundraiser for CISD,” SWC board member Ellie Repala says. “It is a great example of how we can all come together as Dragons to help our community grow and create a place for our students to be able to be creative, to learn and to excel.”
