YMSLxHealingChair
For over five years, The Healing Chair has been supporting cancer patients in need throughout the metroplex. Now the organization has a new community partner to help them through the Young Men’s Service League.
Since 2009, the Southlake chapter of 209 mothers and their ninth-to-12th-grade sons has served the local community through several charity partners, including Special Olympics, RISE Adaptive Sports, 6 Stones, Keller Oaks Healthcare Center, Metroport Meals On Wheels, the Southlake Senior Center and Compassion of Christ. Now they’ve added The Healing Chair to their growing list of community supporters.
Founded in 2019 by Kathleen Ruth in memory of her mother, Jeannine Barrett, The Healing Chair loans powered reclining lift chairs to women recovering from mastectomy surgeries at home. As part of their support, YMSL members have committed to delivering on behalf of The Healing Chair as part of their community service.
