UDPP Carroll Seniors To Watch - Boyd main
With last year’s outflux of graduating starters, the Dragons may be more green as they head into the 2020 season, but they are just as strong.
This year’s leaders are just as impressive as their predecessors, so learn more about the 2020 class before game day. Whether you watch them play at home or listen to the audio play-by-play, these Southlake Carroll seniors deserve recognition.
Joe McFadden, Kicker
One of the hottest high school football seniors out there, Joe McFadden is definitely someone to keep your eye on. Named to the MaxPreps Texas All-State football team, Joe made seven field goals and 84 points after touchdown last season, making him second in scoring with 105 points. (No. 1 is Owen Allen, who scored 132 points last season.) One of only 100 players named to the Adidas All-American Bowl, Joe received offers from multiple colleges before ultimately committing to the University of Connecticut. Whether it’s making a game-defining PAT or running up the score for Southlake Carroll, don’t sleep on Joe McFadden.
Brady Boyd, Wide Receiver
The first time you heard his name might have been on “SportsCenter.” Southlake Carroll wide receiver Brady Boyd went viral last season after making an impressive one-handed catch. But his talent exceeds impressive catches. A three-star receiver according to 247Sports.com, Brady is committed to Minnesota and is No. 38 on “The Dallas Morning News’” list of top recruits for 2021. Last season, Brady had 66 catches for 972 yards and eight touchdowns. With the new season on the horizon, make sure you keep your eye on Brady.
Cinque Williams, Defensive Back
After transferring from Mansfield Legacy in 2019, Cinque was unable to play on the varsity team after being ruled ineligible by the University Interscholastic League, according to Texas HS Football. But this senior is set to make moves this season. Named to the MaxPreps Texas All-State football team, Cinque is “one of the most versatile players in the state,” according to the football publication. Receiving offers from Sam Houston State University, Lamar University and Hawaii University, Cinque is committed to the latter and is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports.com.
Mason Grawe, Defensive Back
With last season’s seniors graduating, Mason Grawe is ready to step up and shine. Recording 20 solo tackles and 27 total tackles last season, this season should provide him plenty of opportunity to dominate. Mason recently received his first college offer from Southwestern University and also got invited to play in the Hawaii Tiki Bowl this year from December 30 to January 4. Whether it’s making sacks or deflecting passes, Mason Grawe is sure to be a welcome sight to see on game day.
Parker Schnieders, Defensive Back
Another up and coming defensive back, Parker Schnieders is set to dominate this season. Even with a slew of seniors on the team, Parker recorded eight tackles — five solo and three assisted — and one interception last season. This year, Parker has the chance to step up and shine, whether it’s through making interceptions or recording tackles. And with a new season about to begin, the limit on Parker does not exist.
